Hannah Arksey is a photographer based in Manchester, England. Through the use of photography she primarily explores the youth and subcultures of England. Her work is heavily inspired by the 1980's through to the 2000's. She turns most of her attention to the club/ music culture and fashion scene in and around the North. Hannah enjoys seeing how fashion fads evolve and repeat themselves through the generations. Hannah strives to create a feeling of nostalgia visually through her practice, working with themes of time presenting youth culture in the rawest form.
Hannah captures snapshots of lives she is a part of, keeping her work personal and meaningful. Hannah's preferred photographic medium is film as she thinks the effect parallels with the notions of time. She believes the use of film captures the essence of nostalgia and reminiscence. Hannah also takes a multimedia approach to her editing, She loves the influence of colour, music and pop culture.
